Unknown six robbers, on Wednesday night, robbed M’mbelwa District Council and went away with MK 2 million cash and two laptops.
The incident occurred on the night of June 10-11, 2020 after the criminals broke into District Commissioner’s premises.
Before the robbery, the robbers tied the watchman on duty and threatened to kill him if he shouts for help.
Thereafter, they broke into Finance Information Saver Office then later to the Accounts office where they stole cash amounting to MK2,088, 000.
They later broke into Senior Administrators Office where they stole two laptop computers valued at MK 600, 000.
Meanwhile police have launched a man hurt to apprehend the suspects.
The suspects are expected to answer charges of robbery with violence which cotravenes section 301 of penal code.
