Attorney General has asked the Presidential Task
Force on Covid-19 to revisit its directives on banning of public gatherings.
Government through the Task Force on covid-19 issued directives to stop public gatherings such as weddings, street vending and congregations.
In a letter, Attorney General, Chikosa Silungwe says
the measures cannot be enforced as there is currently an injunction against a lockdown before the court, in which the measures are also under contention.
Silungwe has since advised the Task Force to suspend its ban and seek advise from his office on the matter if need be.
This is after there has been a surge in Covid-19 cases across the country.
