Health Minister Khumbize Kandodo today opened the new Salima District Hospital Maternity Wing.
During the handover ceremony the minister told the women in attendance that the new maternity wing is not a licence for more pregnancies.

She advised the women in Salima not to get pregnant just because of a desire to use the new maternity wing which has improved facilities including enclosed 15 delivery cubicles, sleeping quarters for nursing staff, 51 bed waiting room among others.
This is an improvement from the old wing which only had 5 beds.
