The ministry of agriculture has instituted an investigation into reports that Mozambican nationals are accessing inputs in the Affordable Inputs Programme.
This follows reports that the foreigners managed to secure Malawian national identity cards making it easy for them to access the inputs.
Confirming the development to Metro Online, Gracian Mluusu, spokesperson for the ministry said he is aware that some Mozambicans are benefiting from the programme.
He however clarified that the foreign nationals are buying fertilizer from beneficiaries of AIP not from the selling points.
Lungu said the ministry has engaged security agencies to seal the borders and bring to book Malawians who are aiding foreigners to access the inputs.
