Vice President Dr Saulos Klaus Chilima says all is set for Malawi to host the Africa Regional Review Meeting (ARRM) for the 33 Least Developed African Countries (LDCs) and Haiti, which is slated for 22 to 26 February, 2021.
He was speaking during a virtual press briefing on the country’s state of preparedness towards hosting the ARRM, whose main agenda is to review progress made and challenges encountered towards achieving SDGs in the past decade, in preparation for the 5th United Nations Conference on Least Developed Countries to be held in Doha, Qatar from 23 to 27 January, 2022.
Under-Secretary General, and High Representative for Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Countries, and Small Island Developing States, Fekitamoeloa Katao Utoikamanu, who co-presided over the briefing said the ARRM will also asses how COVID19 pandemic has affected LDCs, and how the international community will support LDCs in the next decade.
