Senior Resident Magistrate Martin Chipofya has released Abdul Karim Batatawala on bail on condition that he pays K800,000 cash bond, produce one surety bonded at K2.5 million non-cash, he should surrender his passport and all his travel documents and that he must present himself to the ACB on Friday every two weeks.

Batatawala has also been told not to travel outside Blantyre without the ACB’s knowledge and that if he needs medical treatment outside Malawi, the ACB must be allowed to have its independent doctors assess him.
