Malawi has registered eight new COVID-19
cases, no new recoveries, and no new deaths,
officials say.
Of the new cases, one is from Mzimba South and seven were identified at Mwanza port of entry during
routine screening of people entering the country.
Of these cases, two are from Mangochi, and one case is from each of the following districts: Balaka,
Chikwawa, Dedza, Lilongwe, and Mwanza.
Cumulatively, Malawi has recorded 572 cases including six deaths. Of these cases, 456 are imported infections and 101 are locally transmitted while 15 are still under investigation.
“Seventy-three of the total cases have now recovered bringing the total number of active cases to 493. The average age of the cases is 31.9 years, the youngest case is aged 1 year, the oldest is 75 years and 70% are male.
The country has so far conducted 8904 COVID-19
tests in 25 COVID-19 testing sites. ” reads an
