The Good Health Organization has asked youth in Kasungu to remain relevant, competitive and current in modern technological driven world by embracing Information and Communication Technology (ICT) trainings if they are to open up opportunities.
GHO Executive Director Gentry Kamanga said this when organization staged a youth talk program with young boys and girls in Kasungu that had undergone training in computer packages for a period of one month with support from the organization.
“The youth need to be moving with the technology because everything in this world has been digitalized. Our organization does conduct these trainings every year to make sure that the youths in Kasungu and the rest of the country are computer literate,” Kamanga said.
In his remarks, the Kasungu District Youth Officer James Mathiya commended GHO for the initiative saying it is contributing to the government’s effort in ensuring that the youth in the country are acquiring different professional knowledge and skills.
“Currently the government is focusing on the vocation trainings to the youth so that they become self-employed citizens. This computer package training is laying a strong foundation for them because when they go out on the ground or go to the tertiary institutions they will apply the same computer skills,” Mathiya said.
Mathiya, however, said; “I plea to the organizations in the district to be offering internship opportunities to these youth so that they gain practical knowledge”.
