One of the country’s soccer analyst Kelvin Moyo has pledged football governing bodies to reopen soccer season ardor for the national football team to have enough preparations in international competitions while meeting safety standard of Covid-19 pandemic.
According to Moyo, as the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has released the fixtures for the 2022 African Cup of Nations(AFCON) qualifiers to accommodate matches that were postponed in March due to the Covid-19 flames needs to be in camp for players to have good coordination during the participation of the competitions.
Head coach for the flames Meck Mwase, has welcomed the idea although it will be so hard for players to sheath after a break of 8 months without playing football, however he has asked FAM to restart the country’s football league for the good performance of the flames in 2022 AFCON qualifiers.
Meanwhile, FAM competitions mananger Gomegzan Zakazaka hinted that sports might return as they are waiting an acknowledgement from the government.
The 2022 AFCON qualifiers is expected to start in November 2020 where Malawi will face Burkina Faso.
