Pressure is mounting on the Anti-Corruption to conclude investigations into cases before the Bureau.
Since the change of government several individuals and organizations including the Human Rights Defenders Coalition have written the Bureau to carry out investigations into alleged abuse of government resources by the previous administration.
Though the Bureau has moved in to make arrests of some suspects, no case has commenced yet before the courts a development that is worrying human rights defenders.
Addressing members of the press in Lilongwe on Wednesday morning, Gift Trapence Chairperson for HRDC said the Bureau must act with speed as any unnecessary delays are raising eyebrows as regards the Bureau’s commitment to end corruption.
According to Trapence if ACB fails to act, HRDC will mobilize Malawians to storm ACB offices across the country to see that justice is done on finishing old reports on probes.
Trapence further explained that Justice delayed is Justice denied hence keeping people in transit on Justice is violating their rights.
