Gender Activist Barbara Banda has become the second person to decline the appointment of being in the composition of boards of various Statutory Corporations.
Earlier this week, President Lazarus Chakwera announced names of chairpersons and members of boards in 67 governmental institutions.
After youth rights campaigner Charles Kajoloweka snubbed an appointment into the board, gender activist Barbara Banda has also followed suit for her appointment into the Teveta board.
In an interview with Metro Online, Barbara Banda who is the Chairperson for NGO Gender Coordination Network said Chakwera did not abide by the law in the appointing process of board members.
Banda has since described the move as a protest towards the appointment- she describes as
overlooking women.
