President Dr Lazarus Chakwera has outlined four key points on what it means to “Clear the rubble.”
He said it means “Removing from state institutions those who committed criminal offences. He gave an example of presiding officers in the 2019 elections who broke the law by being involved in electoral malpractices but have not been prosecuted till now. We shall not relent from the rule of law or look the other way.”
Political interference is the biggest rubble Malawi has. Government will not hesitate to remove political operatives who don’t want to change.
Prosecuting those with evidence who abused public office.
Firing those who are incompetent or negligent of their duties, those with sub-standard attitude and relocating negligent workers to more useful and less harmful departments.
