President Lazarus Chakwera and the First Lady Madame Monica Chakwera have received their first injection of Oxford-AstaZeneca Covid-19 Vaccine at Zomba Field Covid-19 Hospital, at Zomba State Lodge.
The vaccination of the first citizens, marks the start of mass vaccination in the country.
Among those who have also received the jab today are Chief Justice Andrew Nyirenda, Former President Joyce Banda, Speaker of Parliament Catherine Gotani Hara, Archbishop Thomas Msusa, among others.

Meanwhile, Vice-President Saulos Chilima will also take a first jab of the vaccine in Mzuzu, this afternoon.
