Police in Kasungu have arrested a 21 year – old Abiton Billy for allegedly stealing two cows in Zambia which he wanted to sell in Kasungu.
Billy was arrested on Wednesday night, May 11, 2021 at Malovu village.
It is alleged that, Billy was staying in Zambia where he was working as a garden boy to Noah Phiri.
The report indicates that, Billy stole the cows belonging to the brother of Noah Phiri at Mpafeni village, in the area of Traditional Authority Mpezeni in Chipata district, Zambia.
Police received a tip-off that Billy was selling two cows at K200, 000 each but some people got suspicious of him and tipped off police officers.
In reacting to the tip off, police officers managed to arrest the suspect.
Abiton Billy will appear before court soon for contravening section 282 of the penal code.
He comes from Malovu village in the area of Traditional Authority Njombwa in Kasungu district.
