The People’s Team face the Tanzanian side in the second semi-final match of the inter-club competition at Azam Complex on Wednesday evening.
A win will see the TNM Super League champions secure a final spot against Ugandan Express FC, who beat KMKM SC of Zanzibar on Tuesday.
Bullets reached the semi-final phase of the tournament after finishing second in Group A with five points, two behind Express, while Azam finished top of Group B with six points.
Assistant coach Peter Mponda, who is in charge of the team in Dar es Salaam has no injuries worries in camp ahead of the evening’s showdown and will likely maintain the starting XI that beat Atlabara at the weekend.
The coach is optimistic The People’s Team will reach the finals as his charges have demonstrated their capabilities in the group stages of the competition.
“We believe we had a fairly good run in the three matches we played in the group stages where we won one and drew two. We are ready to go against Azam and we believe a place is waiting for us in the final.” – Mponda.
